Setting Up the Microsoft Authenticator

Step 1: To set up the mobile authenticator, log in to the Viking Portal using your student ID@lbcc.edu, password, and One Time Passcode (OTP). If you are unable to generate an OTP, please contact the Student Technology Help Desk at (562) 938-4250.
Step 2: Once you have logged in, navigate to the left side and click on My Account and select Security Info.
Step 3: You will see your phone number and password listed. Click on + Add Sign-In Method. Then, click on Microsoft Authenticator.
Step 4: Download the Microsoft Authenticator App from the appropriate app store for your device and click Next. Once you download it, you will need to set up your account on your device in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
Step 5: Move over to your mobile device for the next few steps. Click Accept, then click on Add work or school account. Then proceed with signing into to your LBCC Account using ID@lbcc.edu.
Step 6: Next, click Continue. Skip when it asks to add a passkey and passwordless sign on. Then click done.
Step 7: Your Microsoft Authenticator will automatically generate an OTP on the screen. You will need to enter this OTP in the box provided on your phone app before the code expires. Click Yes.
